Jeans for Genes Day
All the children (and staff) were very excited to come to school today as they didn’t have to wear their school uniform. Instead they could wear Jeans!
Every year Chandlings Prep School takes part in Genes for Jeans day in order to raise funds for children across the UK with rare genetic disorders.
This year a portion of the fund will also go specifically towards the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation (SMS Foundation). The SMS Foundation offers support to those families who have someone living with Smith-Magenis Syndrome a rare genetic condition. Within our Chandlings family we have a little boy, who is one of just 245 people in the UK with this condition.
A stall was set up in the morning by the school gate where children could buy merchandise and donate £1 to further support the SMS Foundation and Jeans for Genes day.
Class 4H also performed an assembly telling the school about genes and how we all have them but we’re all very different and unique.
Thank you to everyone who took part and watch this space for the total amount raised.
