Chandlings Prep raises over £13,000 for Helen & Douglas House
Chandlings Prep were delighted to welcome Andrea Baganz-Pritchard from Helen and Douglas House to their school to present her with a cheque for £13,512.78. The school had been raising funds for the last two years for the local hospice which supports terminally ill children and their parents. The charity had been voted for by the school as part of their annual charity programme and Alexander, the Charity Ambassador, had the privilege of presenting the cheque.
PATCH (Chandlings Prep Parent & Teacher Association) worked tirelessly alongside the charity ambassadors and the school community to raise this fantastic amount of money through a variety of events. These included a huge Fun Family picnic, Wildlife fancy dress up day, cake and ice-cream sales, quizzes, Gifts for Grownups (a Christmas gift sale), movie nights and discos, the second hand uniform shop proceeds and even a Santa Dash!
Andrea Baganz-Pritchard from Helen & Douglas House came to the school to accept the cheque and showed us how the money has helped with the hospice. She said,“ We can’t thank all the children, staff, parents and the members of PATCH enough for their amazing fundraising efforts. The last two years were very difficult for schools and to raise such an incredible amount of money for our terminally ill children and their families, is an amazing achievement. It truly has been such a privilege to work with everyone at Chandlings Prep School through this 2-year partnership. Thank you so much again.“
A plaque commemorating the joint partnership was also given to Chandlings Prep from Helen & Douglas House.
