This term the topic for Year 1 is 'The Wonderful World of Chocolate.'  The launch day began the evening before when the children received their very own golden ticket inviting them to chocolate wonderland.

We were delighted to welcome the writer and performance poet Valerie Bloom to Chandlings as part of a week filled with exciting World Book Day events. Valerie, who received an MBE for her services to poetry, performed her poems to the whole school from Nursery to Year 6.

The children in Year 6 were tasked with making a model of a cell (plant, animal, bacteria, or virus) for a house competition, in order to support and cement their understanding of their Science and Engineering topic, Cells and Microbes. After receiving an invite on Thursday 12th January, Year 1 arrived at their classroom doors on Friday ready to zoom off to space. The children, dressed as astronauts and aliens, were in for an immersive experience throughout the day. 

The first Wednesday assembly back after the Christmas holidays provided the children of Chandlings Prep with a huge surprise! The staff had secretly been rehearsing a pantomime to perform - Strictly Come Dancing in Pantoland!

Congratulations to our Year 6 and Year 5 girls who recently represented the school at the Royal Wootton Bassett Festival of Performing Arts scooping up a collection of trophies and medals.
