The Role of the Form Teacher
Trust, Mutual Respect & Understanding:
The Form Teacher’s role
Our form teachers play an integral role in the pastoral welfare of our children in their care.
Strong relationships are formed based on trust, mutual respect and understanding. Valuable messages are shared and discussed during form times and the children are always encouraged to express their feelings and opinions.
Each form creates a smaller Chandlings family where each child learns to be respectful and sensitive towards the needs of others.
In addition to enhancing each child’s own self confidence and happiness, our Form Teachers also work with the Heads of Upper Prep (Years 5 and 6), Middle Prep (Year 3 and 4) and Lower Prep (Years 1 and 2) who each take pastoral responsibility for their year groups. They all ensure that our children’s journey through the school is as smooth as possible.
High quality pastoral care from all staff enables pupils to feel confident and supported.
