History
“The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.”
Sir Winston Churchill
In History, our children are encouraged to think for themselves. Lively teaching of this fascinating subject promotes interesting debate and discussion of important issues amongst all age groups.
Broadly speaking, History in the Prep Department embraces the two thousand years of history in Britain since the birth of Christ. The aim is to enable pupils to see how society has developed during that time. Our children consider events chronologically and refer to timelines regularly.
Throughout the school, pupils are encouraged to compare and contrast life in the past with the present day.
Above all, History is taught in a fun, interactive style with a fascinating trip to Warwick Castle for example, which enriches learning.
